WHAT IS BALLET These are some of the topics that were covered with demonstration at the lec-dem after introducing myself and the individual dancers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

HOW  ARE DANCERS TRAINED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ever wondered how ballet dancers find their way around a stage?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How they remember everything? There is a body memory, a musical memory and then repetition!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How they gain strength and look graceful at the same time. Training, placing, repetition!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using the 4 Corners and 4 walls of any space you are dancing in for directional purposes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developing the body based on the 7 movements in dance\u00a0 P E R G S E T,\u00a0 an Anagram used to remember the alphabet of ballet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 Head movements<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 Feet Positions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 Arm Positions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 Arabesques, standing on one leg and lifting the other behind you<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8 Body Positions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These plus many other principles are part of the Cecchetti Method\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enrico\u00a0 Cecchetti\u00a0 born in a dressing room of the Tordinona Theatre, Rome on 21st<\/sup> June 1850<\/strong>. Died while giving a ballet lesson at the Scala on 13 November 1928<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a dancer he travelled extensively in Europe, Russia and Britain<\/strong> training the dancers of the Diaghilev company<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The method Cecchetti used to train professional dancers was codified by Cyril Beaumont.\u00a0 They met on one of Cecchetti\u2019s visits to England with the Diaghilev Ballet Company<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The performance was very well received and many compliments and delightful coffee and cake were provided at the end of lovely happy learning experience for dancers and audience. We were grateful to be invited. Amy Gould Ballet School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
